Proprietor Wanpen Sarai
Owner Wanpen Sarai combines her family’s tradition of making Thai beverages from her hometown of Kanchanaburi, Thailand with 10 years of experience working at a coffee shop in Pasadena to produce Full Moon Café’s beverages, which include latte, cappuccino, hot chocolate, boba, smoothies, Thai iced tea and Thai iced coffee. “I want to offer something different in Thai Town, that you normally don’t find in other restaurants,” says Wanpen (which means “Full Moon” in Thai), who came to the U.S. in 1995 and now resides in the San Gabriel Valley. Her menu also includes uniquely Southeast Asian beverages such as logan juice, roselle (hibiscus flower) juice and bael fuit juice. “The [Thai Town Marketplace] concept is very good, you have a good selection of food from all parts of Thailand, and other countries too,” Wanpen says. “They will always have someone to help you [start your business] if you need help. So I’m giving it my 100 percent!”
